Neiman Wins ‘Best of Public Service’ and ‘Best of Radio’ at 2011 Philadelphia Addy Awards

Philadelphia, PA (March 11,2011) - Neiman received top honors for public service at the 2011 Philadelphia ADDY Awards. The documentary for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s motorcycle safety campaign, Live Free Ride Alive, earned ‘Best of Public Service’, and the campaign website, LiveFreeRideAlive.com claimed a Gold ADDY.

Another Neiman public-service campaign for the Commonwealth, to combat problem gambling, also claimed a Gold ADDY. Neiman took home 15 awards in all.

“Nights like this remind us how fortunate we are,” said Neiman CEO Tim Reeves. “Our job is to help great clients do smart work to produce results that matter. And in the case of our more than decade-long partnership with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania – those results can change lives and sometimes even save them. Not a bad way to make a living.”

The Live Free Ride Alive documentary captures personal stories of Pennsylvania riders who have endured pain or loss by riding. LiveFreeRideAlive.com also features messages and videos submitted by riders, and a practical rider’s safety guide. The campaign is rooted in a simple, research-based strategic insight: The best way to promote safety among bikers is to galvanize the community and enable them to spread the safety message.

After the expansion of table game licenses in Pennsylvania in July 2010, the Commonwealth asked Neiman to create PaProblemGambling.com, a robust resource for problem gamblers and their loved ones. The website’s content helps problem gamblers to confront the consuming presence of gambling in their lives.

Neiman also took home ‘Best of Radio’ for First Energy. In total, the ad agency earned 15 coveted ADDYs – 12 Golds and three Silvers. The two ‘Best Of’ wins follow wins in ‘Best of Show’ at the 2009 and 2010 Philadelphia ADDYs. BrownPartners, Neiman’s longtime partner on Commonwealth social marketing, won a Gold ADDY for Breathing Room, a multiple media smoking cessation campaign for the Department of Health.

The ADDY Awards ceremony was held March 11 at Tendenza in Northern Liberties.
